Chelsea FC announce new manager
Published: Tuesday 17th of June 2008
Phil Scolari has been announced as the new manager of Chelsea FC.
Scolari, who is currently in charge of the Portuguese national side as they compete in Euro 2008, will take charge at the London club when the new football season starts on August 16th.
Barcelona midfielder Deco is among the football heavyweights rumoured to be bound for Chelsea following the news of Scolari's appointment, while current midfielder Frank Lampard could join up with former Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho at Inter Milan.
With the exception of Wembley, Stamford Bridge, Chelsea's home ground, is the largest of London's stadiums.
Football fans can take the Chelsea FC Stadium tour for free by purchasing a London Pass. In addition to saving £15 on the normal adult entry fee, London Pass holders can receive a ten per cent discount in the club's Megastore.
Chelsea will face Portsmouth in their first fixture of the 2008-09 season.
