Chelsea 'out of the running for title'
Published: Friday 20th of February 2009
Chelsea FC are now out of the running for the Premier League title after they sacked manager Luiz Felipe Scolari, Sir Alex Ferguson has predicted.
The Manchester United boss said the race is now between his team and Liverpool, adding that the London team were hasty to do away with their manager so quickly.
"You can never be dead sure, but it's safe to say that Chelsea have an uphill fight now to overcome us," he continued.
Ferguson added that "long-term planning" was the key to success in the game, saying any new boss would not bring about a quick fix solution for the club.
Scolari was sacked by Chelsea earlier this month by the club's owner, Russuan oligarch Roman Abramovich, after seven months on the job.
Visitors to London can go behind the scenes of all the goings-on at the world-famous football club by going on a Chelsea FC Stadium Tour.
Holders of the London Pass will save themselves £15 per adult and £9 per child.
