Bolt to defend title at London 2012 Olympics

Published: Monday 18th of May 2009

Record-breaking runner Usain Bolt has vowed to defend his title at the 2012 London Olympics.

He dismissed claims which emerged over the weekend, suggesting he would not be competing to emulate his success in Beijing last year.

"It is always great to go and defend your title. I could never have said that," he told reporters.

The 22-year-old also expressed his desire to be a legend in the sport adding that winning the 2012 title would "be a milestone" in his career.

The Jamaican-born runner notched up another best time in recent days, smashing the 150-metre fastest time at the Bupa Great CityGames sprint.
