Windsor Castle to hold investiture ceremonies

In an unprecedented move, the Queen has announced that investiture ceremonies are to be switched for their traditional home in Buckingham Palace to Windsor Castle.
It appears the move has not been confirmed as permanent yet, as officials say they plan to assess the popularity of the move with award recipients before deciding whether this will become the norm in the future.
The move has been made primarily to allow for Buckingham Palace to be given over to the 60th birthday celebrations of the Prince of Wales in November.
Windsor Castle is the oldest and largest occupied castle, with almost 1,000 years of history. It is believed to be the Queen's favourite residence. A fire in 1992 destroyed many historic rooms and artefacts, but a £37 million restoration project began and restored the building to its former glory by its reopening in 1997.
LondonPass holders receive free entry to Windsor Castle, a saving of £14.80 for adults and £8.50 for children.
