Things to do in London: Buckingham Palace Summer Opening

Visitors making their way to London attractions such as Kew Gardens and the National Gallery may benefit from taking a trip to Buckingham Palace.

The summer opening for the palace will allow travellers as well as Londoners to gain and insight in the lives of the royalty.

Visitors will have access to the splendid Grand Hall and can view at close quarter the ostentatious Music Room, which has been the setting for many a royal christening.

In the Picture Gallery, art-lovers could enjoy some the royal collection that includes Rubens, Vermeers and Rembrandts. In addition to this, those visiting the palace can enjoy a walk around the west wing, giving them the opportunity to view the garden as well as the adjacent lake.

The highlight for this year is The Queen's Year exhibition which will allow visitors to view the ceremonial dresses and gowns worn by the Queen to mark various royal events and ceremonies.
