Royal Mews 'a top London regal attraction'
Published: Wednesday 25th of February 2009
London has its fair share of royal attractions, with visitors able to take in the splendour of the British monarchy, claims one writer.
Heading for historic Whitehall will give people plenty to marvel at, with Brenda Webb saying she even got the experience of seeing the Queen's state carriage.
Writing for the Marlborough Express, she says the state opening of parliament is an event not to be missed and "encompasses all the pomp and pageantry for which Britain is best known".
She adds that the Royal Mews is worth a visit, with the Queen's horses on display alongside the carriages and cars used in state events and ceremonies.
"The highlight is the ornate gold state coach built in 1762 in Dublin," Ms Webb continues.
London Pass holders can visit the Royal Mews free of charge, saving themselves £7.50 on an adult ticket and £4.80 on a child's.
