London unveils Queen Mother monument

A national monument to the Queen Mother has been unveiled in London to commemorate the life of the member of royalty.
It was unveiled by the Queen in the presence of three generations of the royal family, including Prince Charles, who is partly responsible for the statue.
The monument is situated next to one of her husband, George VI, which the prince believes is a fitting tribute to his later grandmother.
"At long last my grandparents are reunited in this joint symbol, which in particular reminds us of all they stood for and meant to so many during the darkest days this country has ever faced," he said.
He called his grandparents an "inspiration", with the nine-foot monument facing the royal residence of Buckingham Palace.
