Staycations 'a good choice in 2009'

Published: Sunday 22nd of March 2009

People are considering staying in the UK as opposed to heading off abroad this year, says one expert which could prove a great opportunity to explore London.

A spokesperson for the Local Government Association says people are conscious their money is not going far at the moment, so they want to make savings where they can.

"The exchange rate now is that much more favourable for people coming in from Europe and America," she continues, suggesting that London could also be the ideal location for people overseas as well.

Furthermore, there is a "wide variety" of cities for people to explore, the expert claims, which means Britain is a great place for an extended break.

Tourists heading to London - whether from the UK or abroad - can make their money go further with a London Pass.

Once purchased, people can visit a range of the city's attractions free of charge.
