Cheaper hotels 'boost' London attractions incentive
Published: Tuesday 7th of April 2009
Tourists will have more free cash to spend on visiting London attractions, new figures from a leading hotel website suggest.
Hotel prices in the capital fell by 12 per cent to £111 per room in the last three months of 2008, according to research by Hotels.com.
Analysis also reveals that the average price paid by European and US travellers in the capital was down by as much as 24 per cent.
This will also have allowed tourists to set aside more money to visit some of London's best attractions, such as the Britain at War Experience, Chelsea FC Stadium Tour or one of the many City Cruises available.
Patricia Yates, director of strategy and insights at VisitBritain, said: "This report underlines that Britain is a great place to holiday right now, whether you're from overseas or from the UK itself.
"There are some fantastic deals to be had and you can enjoy all this country has to offer for less than ever before."
