Dragon boat races can add the exotic touch to things to do in London
Published: Wednesday 23rd of June 2010
Trips to London attractions can benefit from an oriental flavour with a visit to the London Hong Kong Dragon Boat Festival 2010.
Hosted by the London Regatta Centre at the Royal Albert Docks, the festival is a traditional celebration of the coming of rains.
The event will see 40 dragon boat teams competing with each other to make it to the finish line first. Also on offer will be live entertainment in the form of kung fu performances, music and a lion dance.
Stalls will be selling Chinese bric-a-brac as well as food and drinks for those keen to taste the exotic cuisines.
A dedicated children's play area will include a bouncy castle and face painting booths to help kids make the most of the day.
