Summer event for kids at the Cartoon Museum

Published: Monday 14th of July 2008

Stalwarts of the British cartooning trade, Dennis the Menace and his trusty pet dog Gnasher will be making their presence felt at the Cartoon Museum in London this summer.

Visitors to the Cartoon Museum this August can learn about all their favourite characters from the Beano and the Dandy at a series of family fun days taking place from August 2nd until August 31st.

On August 2nd, the Cartoon Museum hosts National Menace Day, perfect for menaces young and old. Join in the jokes, "capers" and cartoons aplenty starring the star characters of the Beano.

August 6th will see the venue host a special Kids' Masterclass: Make your own Beano day, where children can have a go at creating their own storyboards, while on the 13th of August kids will have the chance to redesign their favourite characters as heroes and heroines.

An advanced animation two-day workshop is to be held on August 28th and 29th for older "experienced" young animators.

Dennis the Menace first came to life as a rebellious young scamp in the 1950s before being joined by his canine companion Gnasher in 1970.

London Pass holders can receive free entry to the Cartoon Museum.
