Gardens come alive for school children
Published: Saturday 18th of October 2008
Children on their half-term holidays can learn about a diverse range of plant and animal species at London's Chelsea Physic Garden this October.
On Wednesday 29th the Garden Safari day will allow green-fingered youngsters into the Jungle room to learn about some of the more weird and wonderful plant varieties around the world.
Then on Thursday 30th, curious animal-watchers can learn all about different animals on Creepy Crawly day. Highlights include a live tree frog and a giant millipede.
Priced at only £5 this is one bargain that adults and kids alike should enjoy.
Chelsea Physic Garden is considered one of the few remaining 'secret' gardens in the capital, and has been beautiful preserved since its opening in 1673, making it one of the oldest in the country, even the world.
Visitors to the Chelsea Physic Garden can take advantage of free entry, saving £7 off the adult price and £4 for children.
