Engage in the arts for things to do in London
Published: Friday 16th of July 2010
Summer is the perfect time to learn new skills and develop a lifelong habit. Families visiting the capital can take this opportunity to introduce their young kids to the wonderful world of arts and crafts.
As part of the Children's Art Day, a series of events will be taking place at various London attractions to kick start the careers of future artists.
Activities include kite-making inspired by John Keats' poetic imageries as well as pinhole camera photography sessions at the Florence Nightingale Museum.
"Art is the ultimate playground: a place for fun, adventure and innovation. Seeing art at first hand can be hugely beneficial to children and families, whether it's through working with an artist in the classroom or visiting one of the UK's brilliant museums and galleries," said Loyd Grossman in support of the project.
Visitors can also continue their artistic exploration of London by visiting the National Theatre which is presently hosting an exhibition that celebrates the best of press photography in Britain.
