Things to do in London: Jazz in the Royal Albert Hall

Published: Monday 19th of April 2010

May 6th may already by etched on to the minds of the public as the date of the general election - but those looking for cultural things to do in London after casting their vote might just be flocking across to the Royal Albert Hall.

The iconic London concert venue is set to host a series of late night jazz evenings, with the first instalment on election day featuring exciting young jazz singer Alex Stewart.

And music fans should be in for a treat, because the Royal Albert Hall website states that Mr Stewart is "creating a buzz as one of the most precociously talented vocalists of the new generation".

The music will begin at 22:00 BST, although visitors can gain entry an hour earlier to partake in the wonderful food and cocktails on offer.

Other events in the late night jazz diary at the Royal Albert Hall include the Alex Hutton Trio on May 26th, the Ben Holder Trio on June 2nd and the Gill Manly Trio on June 16th.

The Royal Albert Hall is a Grade I listed building and was opened back in 1871.
