Save on sightseeing in London while supporting St Paul's Cathedral's eco effort
Published: Friday 19th of March 2010
People visiting the capital later this month will be able to save on sightseeing in London while also giving their backing to an environmental effort at St Paul's Cathedral.
On March 27th at 20:30 GMT, the external lights of St Paul's Cathedral will be switched off in support of WWF's Earth Hour 2010 campaign.
It means that visitors will be treated to an unprecedented display at what is one of the most impressive London attractions.
WWF believes that climate change is one of the biggest threats facing the planet and it is aiming for one billion people around the world to switch off their lights for one hour.
In other news from St Paul's Cathedral, a new work by the acclaimed artist Antony Gormley has been installed in the historic building's geometric staircase.
The artwork is entitled Flare II and is an "attempt to use applied geometry to construct an energy field describing a human space in space", Mr Gormley said.
