Transport 'still running' between London attractions
Published: Monday 11th of January 2010
Those visiting London over the coming week may be worried that their plans to visit London attractions could be scuppered by the bad weather, but the Mayor of London has assured that the capital will keep on moving.
Boris Johnson, the Mayor of London, said that there are still ample stocks of salt in the city and that gritters were out treating the roads to ensure residents and visitors alike could travel with greater ease.
"We will do everything humanly possible to keep roads safe and public transport running," Mr Johnson added.
London's bus network is to continue running but diversions may occur if the weather worsens in certain areas.
Transport commissioner Peter Hendy said that staff on the Tube, DLR, London Overground, London Buses and Trams are "working round the clock and we continue to operate good service levels".
