London to benefit from new air routes

Published: Thursday 23rd of April 2009

Flying to London is to become much easier with a series of new routes, it has emerged.

One of the new services is a three times daily route between Dusseldorf and London Gatwick, courtesy of Flybe.

The route has already proved a success from Southampton, Manchester and Birmingham, says Mike Rutter, the airline's chief commercial officer.

Another additional service operating from London Gatwick is one to Leeds Bradford Airport, which is also being introduced by Flybe and replaces the service removed by BMI earlier this year.

Services will operate seven days a week, each taking a little over an hour, meaning the capital has become much easier to access.

Those heading to London using the new services can make the most of their trip using the London Pass, which gives free entry to a number of top attractions.

Among them is the Florence Nightingale Museum, which is located on Lambeth Road in the city.
