London taxis 'best in the world'
Published: Wednesday 27th of May 2009
London taxis have been awarded for their high levels of service in the results of a new poll.
Commissioned by Hotels.com, the research found they are the cleanest and most available cabs, while also acknowledging the friendly nature of those who drive them.
John Thomas, chairman of the Licensed Taxi Drivers Association, commented: "London's taxi drivers must dedicate three years to completing the knowledge training to qualify as a London taxi driver and that commitment is vital to offering the very best customer service."
He added that these values are what make the city's service stand out from the likes of New York and Paris, with the former coming second in the survey.
People heading to the capital may want to stop off at a number of top London attractions along the way, with the London Pass making tourist sites more affordable.
