Published: Friday 23rd of May 2008

A visit to one of the many superlative London attractions will be on most peoples' agendas this weekend with research suggesting the city will be the top bank holiday destination.

The AA has offered some advice to those who are planning to embark on some London sightseeing this weekend.

Motorists should plan ahead, according to Andy Taylor, AA patrol of the year 2008. The average Brit is expect to travel 304 miles over the bank holiday weekend and it is important that those who are going by car check their vehicle's coolant and oil levels, battery and tyre tread.

Drivers should also allow plenty of time for their journey, as an increase in traffic is likely to result in delays on the motorways.

On Saturday and Sunday traffic is expected to be weather dependent, while Monday evening will be busy as people return home.

Visitors to the capital can receive free entry to a range of Top London attractions by purchasing a London Pass.
