London attractions: Use new cycle superhighways with London Bicycle Tour
Published: Monday 25th of July 2011
Those hoping to make the most of London sightseeing should do it in the most exciting and green way possible - with help from the London Bicycle Tour.
The city welcomed two new cycle superhighways this weekend, running from Bow to Aldgate and Wandsworth to Westminster, giving those on two wheels more freedom to explore the capital city.
Easily recognisable thanks to their bright blue presence on the roads of London, the superhighways are part of the mayor of London's initiative to get more people cycling.
The project seems to be working, if Transport for London figures are anything to go by, stating that some sections of the routes have seen a 100 per cent increase in the number of bike users.
Visitors to the London Bicycle Tour can opt for a mountain bike or more traditional contraption to tour one of the world's most iconic cities, with a guide on hand to explain the history behind various London attractions.
