London 'best seen from the water'

Published: Wednesday 6th of May 2009

Embarking on an adventure on the River Thames could lead London visitors to see more than they imagined, a touring company has claimed.

According to the tram at Gillard's Thames River Adventures, seeing the capital from different angles can give people an experience not found in the travel guides.

People can take in several of the city's top attractions, including London Zoo and the Houses of Parliament.

The company reports that "nearly 40 per cent of London's area is said to be either water or greenery", with the Royal Botanic Gardens at Kew one of the city's most notorious eco-friendly areas.

Visitors may even get to see some lawn bowling in action around the gardens, it is suggested.

With the London Pass, entry to the likes of London Zoo and Kew Gardens is free, with visitors able to save on a number of key attractions.
