Gatwick and Stansted sale 'may not have immediate changes'
Published: Saturday 11th of April 2009
Passengers will not see any immediate changes to Gatwick and Stansted after they are sold, but the new owner may make amends to the hubs in the future, according to one source.
Which? Holiday says travellers will not be immediately aware of any alterations but over time alterations are likely to happen at the airports, following BAA's sale of them.
Jonathan Mitcham, principal researcher at Which? Holiday magazine, says: "What we'd say is that we will wait with interest to see how new owners respond to the challenge."
He adds that the recent announcement that the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) will put travellers' interests first is likely to have more of an impact on customer service.
"We hope that the CAA will be more proactive in pushing standards up," Mr Mitcham states.
