Boris embarks on City Cruise

Published: Sunday 12th of April 2009

City Cruises recently had a special guest on one of its Riverliners, when plans were announced to enhance the capital's waterways.

Boris Johnson took to the Millennium of Peace, one of the vessels belonging to the award-winning river boat company, where he revealed his ideas.

The company has agreed to sign up to the river Concordat, which will see boat operators, pier owners and borough councils all working together.

"We have managed to build a successful company, by optimising efficiency throughout the business, broadening its appeal to all market sectors and constantly striving to innovate," says Gary Beckwith, chairman of City Cruises.

The firm operates services between four major destinations along the Thames: Waterloo, Westminster, Greenwich and Tower.

With the London Pass, visitors to the area can embark on a City Cruise for themselves, saving £10.50 on the price of an adult ticket and £5.25 on a child's.
