Things to do in London: Visit the London Boat Show

Published: Thursday 3rd of December 2009

After a day of visiting London attractions around the River Thames next month, watch boats of all shapes and sizes sail up and down the water as part of the London Boat Show.

Some of the largest boats currently in manufacture will be moored in the Royal Victoria Dock with an array of events and exhibitions taking place in ExCeL London, the international exhibition and conference centre.

The centre's North Hall will stage numerous performances including Rock the Boat - a dance performance and fashion showcase.

There will be plenty of activity on the water too, with over 60 boats competing in the Ovington Skiff Grand Prix and the Battle of the Classes Pursuits Race.

The show will take place between January 8th and 10th 2010.

Visitors can get to the show by train, which they can get from the Tower Gateway station, just across the river from the 20th century cruiser, HMS Belfast.

The cruiser served Britain for 32 years, playing an important role in the Second World War and the Korean War.
