See the hallowed turf of Wembley, one of the most historic London attractions
Published: Monday 16th of April 2012
The UK has a rich sporting history, with some of the greatest sportsmen and women in history being born in Britain, and many of these stars have competed at Wembley Stadium – undoubtedly the most famous arenas in the country, and perhaps the world.
People on the hunt for things to do in London can head on a Wembley Stadium Tour and learn just why the stadium is so revered among sports fans across the UK and beyond.
The historic arena was reopened in 2007 after extensive refurbishment and people taking the tour can learn all about the rebuilding process as they explore the Club Wembley Middle Tier, the England dressing rooms and even the Press Conference Room.
Visitors can climb the 107 steps to the Royal Box and see where the FA Cup winners collect their trophy, and also where the winners of the football gold at the 2012 Olympics will collect their medals.
With the fabulous Exhibition of Champions attraction offering a chance to look at Steven Gerrard's 2005 Champions League final captain's armband and David Beckham's shirt from Manchester United's treble-winning campaign in 1999, among many other items of memorabilia, it is truly an unforgettable experience.
