London attractions: Have an ace time at the Wimbledon Lawn Tennis Museum
Published: Monday 5th of November 2012
The UK is famous for its sporting events, as demonstrated with the recent London 2012 Olympic Games, and another of the city's prestige events is honoured at Wimbledon Lawn Tennis Museum.
Located on Church Road in the heart of SW19, the museum offers you a whirlwind tour of Wimbledon's history, complete with on-hand information from touchscreen consoles.
There's an even an interactive guide from Wimbledon and tennis legend John McEnroe who details all about the off-limits areas as well as the secrets he learned within the club's famous dressing rooms.
Furthermore, the museum has its very own Whites Of Wimbledon exhibition which allows visitors to see the entire repertoire of tennis clobber worn through the ages.
This ranges from the traditional all-white shorts, sock and shirts, to the modern multicoloured attire that the likes of Roger Federer, Andy Murray and Rafa Nadal adorn now.
Those with a London Pass can also enjoy the Wimbledon Experience for free, complete with VIP access to restricted areas such as No 1 Court and the press room.
