Free - Entry to 55+ Attractions, among the most sought-after in the country
Published: Sunday 4th of October 2009
Two London attractions have been voted among the best British tourist sights, according to a Group Leisure Magazine poll.
Both the London Eye and Windsor Castle made the shortlist for the Best UK Attraction awards by Group Leisure Magazine readers.
However, neither London attraction made the top spot, which was achieved by the stunning Warwick Castle, which was celebrated for its broad and diverse billing of events and activities.
The London Eye clearly remains the prime pick of London attractions in the mind of one mystery entrepreneur, who has paid £23,000 in a charity auction to have a meal cooked by internationally-renowned chef Gordon Ramsey to be eaten in one of the Eye's capsules.
On October 9th, Ramsey himself will be serving dishes from his three-Michelin starred restaurant to the winner of the prize, plus nine other friends, while they enjoy the views over the capital.
Ramsey is one of six chefs that will transform a London Eye capsules into a kitchen as part of London Restaurant Festival week.
