Discover London attractions 'by bike'

Published: Thursday 18th of September 2008

Visitors to London will have the opportunity to see some of the city's most famous attractions by bike this weekend, when the Sky Sports London Freewheel takes place.

Organisers of the event expect more than 50,000 to take part, with people invited to register for free online.

Those participating will be joined by Olympic medal winners Chris Hoy and Victoria Pendleton, for what has been described as London's "biggest ever free cycling event".

According to the Evening Standard, the cycle route takes in some of London's top attractions, including the Tower of London, Buckingham Palace and Houses of parliament.

Olympic medal winner Shanaze Reade told the publication: "There's no better way to see the capital than on a bike and with no traffic in the way, it is a chance for those with less confidence to enjoy themselves."

However, London Pass holders need not wait until Sunday to enjoy a bike tour of the city. Pass holders can take a trip with the London Bicycle Tour Company any day of the week.
