Published: Thursday 6th of May 2010
The Royal Albert Hall is well known not only as one of the top London attractions, but also as one of the best places in the world to enjoy live music.
And the historic venue has a packed calendar of events over the coming weeks and months, with a variety of pop and classical performers set to grace the stage.
On May 7th, the legendary singer-songwriter Don McLean comes to the Royal Albert Hall, when he will no doubt perform his classic song American Pie.
Then on May 13th it is the turn of the Classical Brit Awards, which is always a major date in the music year, when those attending will be treated to live performances from some of the biggest names in the classical world.
Other upcoming highlights include a concert by Ray Davies of the Kinks fame on May 23rd, a series of performances by Paul Weller and his band from May 24th until May 28th and Mark Knopfler will be in town for six exciting concerts between May 30th and June 4th.
The Royal Albert Hall is a Grade I listed building and it was first opened in 1871.
