Visit Wellington Arch, for historical London attractions
Published: Thursday 17th of February 2011
Those looking for things to do in London should head to Wellington Arch for a memorable day out steeped in British history.
Located at Hyde Park Corner, the famous landmark was originally designed to be a grand entrance for Buckingham Palace before being moved to its current location in 1882.
Visitors can enjoy picturesque views of London from the arch and are likely to spot the Household Cavalry and the Changing of the Guard.
In addition, a unique perspective of the largest bronze statue in Europe, the Quadriga, can be attained by those stood on the balcony.
Those fascinated by history will also be delighted by the inside of the structure, where they can learn the story of London's smallest police station.
Individuals enjoying a day of historical London attractions may also want to visit the Monument, which was originally designed by Sir Christopher Wren and has recently been honoured at the RICS and RIBA London Awards.
