Things to do in London: Explore by bike
Published: Monday 6th of December 2010
People taking a London pass to the capital's various attractions may wish to explore on two wheels, Visit London has suggested.
Transport for London recently announced that the Mayor's flagship cycle hire scheme will go live to casual users from December 3rd, giving tourists instant access to thousands of Barclays Cycles Hire bikes in the city centre.
A spokeswoman for Visit London said getting around on a bike gives visitors a "new perspective" on the city, whether they are travelling around the capital's parks and open spaces or just enjoying the sights from the river.
She added: "The bikes are really easy to use and a great way to travel between attractions, neighbourhoods and just enjoy the views of London."
The more adventurous may also want to see what the London Bicycle Tour Company has to offer, as it has a wide variety of two-wheeled transport from mountain bikes to hybrids.
