London attractions: Lights, camera, action!
Published: Friday 1st of February 2013
Eltham Palace in Greenwich has become a hotspot for television and film crews in recent years. Whether it is period dramas or stylish music videos, Eltham Palace is one of the London attractions where it would not be surprising if you bumped into a star, or two.
There have been many television shows that have filmed on location here. British classic Antiques Roadshow featured an episode on site whilst BBC drama Hustle even performed a scam or two here. Poirot also graced Eltham Palace in 2004’s ‘Death on the Nile’.
Eltham Palace has even been seen on the silver screen. Guy Ritchie’s 2005 Revolver, Stephen Fry’s 2003 Bright Young Things and High Heels and Low Lives starring Minnie Driver and Dannie Dyer, all filmed on location here to make the most of the stunning vistas and classical architecture.
And if all of that was not enough, Cheryl Cole and indie band Florence and the Machine filmed music videos inside this spectacular palace.
Celebrity hunting is always one of the great things to do in London. So get your fame goggles on and visit Eltham Palace. Either that, or you might end up becoming an extra yourself in a Hollywood movie.
