Things to do in London: Learning science over summer

Published: Friday 4th of June 2010

The advent of the summer holidays will inevitably increase the number of families visiting London attractions, looking for that special experience.

In order to cater for visitors of all ages, HMS Belfast has organised a special set of workshops that will give children an insight into the science of shipbuilding.

Launched in association with the Royal Society, the workshops are set to take place on July 31st and do not require any pre-event bookings.

Children will also have a chance to view the Launch! exhibition and learn more about the process of shipbuilding and sailing.

The recent announcement made by Barclays to back the London Cycle Hire System will also make travel between London attractions easier and more eco-friendly for those visiting the city.

Mayor of London Boris Johnson added: "Barclays Cycle Hire, alongside Barclays Cycle Superhighways, will mark 2010 in the history books of our great city as the year that we put the measures in place to create a cycling revolution in London."
