Things to do in London this May: Visit new-look Florence Nightingale Museum
Published: Wednesday 21st of April 2010
People on the lookout for exciting new things to do in London this spring might want to pay a visit to the newly refurbished Florence Nightingale Museum.
This most fascinating of London attractions reopens in May after a £1.4 million rebuild and will feature a variety of intriguing new things to see and do.
History buffs will be in awe as they make their way around the building that is dedicated to one of the most important health reformers of any era.
Ms Nightingale, who was born in 1820 and famously went on to treat and comfort the wounded of the Crimean War, became known as the Lady with the Lamp.
The setting of the Florence Nightingale Museum, beneath St Thomas's Hospital alongside the Thames, is fitting because that is where she set up her nursing school.
It is conveniently located close to Westminster, Waterloo and Lambeth North Underground stations, nestled on the corner of Westminster Bridge Road and Lambeth Palace Road.
