Save on London attractions as European cities are 'great for breaks'

European destinations are great places to take a short break, it has been suggested.
Frances Tuke, spokeswoman for ABTA - The Travel Association, said "any major European cities are big on the short break front", which may include London.
"Certainly, what we've seen with holiday cottages in the UK is that it's very normal for some of those breaks to be long weekend breaks too ," Ms Tuke suggested.
Research from Visa Europe recently found that 21 per cent of people are planning to take more holidays than they did last year and 83 per cent of Brits polled intend taking between one and five short breaks this year.
City breaks emerged as the second most appealing type of holiday, enjoyed by 36 per cent of the population, while 34 per cent of those surveyed are now postponing a traditional two-week mid-summer holiday.
