Richard Long exhibition heading for Tate Britain

Published: Wednesday 25th of March 2009

Holidaymakers heading to London this summer can take advantage of an exhibition at Tate Britain, which will showcase the works of a modern artist between June 3rd and September 6th.

Richard Long: Heaven and Earth will demonstrate the artist's love of nature, which he depicts through a series of photographic and text works.

Tate Britain reveals: "Long's work comes from his love of nature and through the experience of making solitary walks.

"These take him through rural and remote areas in Britain, or as far afield as the plains of Canada."

His work was shifted into public view in the 1960s, with visitors to the gallery able to take in over 80 of his pieces at the new exhibition.

The photographs are said to explore the relation between time, geography and distance in a range of international locations.

With the London Pass, people can visit Tate Britain with a free audio guide, saving £3.50 per adult and £3 per child.
