Obama 'gives barack Churchill sculpture'
Published: Saturday 21st of February 2009
Not content with having to share the Oval Office with another great leader, US president Barack Obama has returned a bust of Winston Churchill to England.
Given to George W Bush on loan after the events of September 11th, the bronze statuette is now on its way back.
Said to have been offered the memorabilia for another four years, the president is believed to have kindly declined the offer.
Many of Winston Churchill's personal items are now showcased in the Churchill Museum and Cabinet War Rooms in London, which are open to the public throughout the year.
For the time being, the British government will have to make room on its shelf to accommodate the bronze bust when it makes it back into the country.
Tourists exploring the City with a LondonPass will save £12 on entry to the Churchill Museum and Cabinet War Rooms.
