New display to be held at the Churchill Museum and Cabinet War Rooms

Published: Wednesday 13th of August 2008

Currently hosting the perennially popular Dig for Victory: The War on Waste event, Churchill Museum and Cabinet War Rooms will follow on from this hands-on display in November with an exhibition focussing on the front line.

Last Post: Remembering the First World War opens on November 6th 2008 and will run until February 14th 2009, giving those hoping to visit the top London attractions ample opportunity to pay the Churchill Museum and Cabinet War Rooms a visit to see the event.

London visitor card holders will be able to gain an insight into the role of the Post Office during the First World War and communication between soldiers and sailors and even prisoners of war and their loved ones.

Also explored in the Last Post exhibition will be the telephone equipment installed by the Post Office, which reportedly was crucial to military action.

Additionally, the retrospective will look at the role the postal service played as a propaganda machine, including censorship to monitor correspondence and spy catching.

Visitors to the Churchill Museum and Cabinet War Rooms can gain entry to the event using their London Pass.
