Museum of London Docklands gearing up for exhibition

Published: Wednesday 11th of March 2009

The Museum of London Docklands is set to unveil a new exhibition, which will celebrate the Living Ancestors of Dominica.

It will take place between April 1st and July 31st, with the opening night also featuring a performance from Plan Be, a hip-hop artist born in Dominica.

Gabrielle Le Roux, who put the exhibition together, comments: "From the times of slavery to the present day, women's bold faces stand out through the corridors of Caribbean history in their multiple roles."

The display features a range of portraits of women from the island and celebrates the lives of nearly 100 centenarians who live there.

People heading to the Docklands for the exhibition should take advantage of the London Pass, which provides free entry to various attractions.

Visitors with the London Pass can head to the Museum of London Docklands free of charge, saving themselves £5 on the price of an adult ticket.
