London museum gets 'waxy' new addition
Published: Thursday 16th of April 2009
One of the newest additions to London museum Madame Tussauds has been given the seal of approval by the celebrity on which it is modelled.
The wax figure of cricketer Sachin Tendulkar was flown to Dubai so that the legend himself could see his representation up close.
The latest addition to the London museum, created over a three-month period at the Tussauds west London studios, will make it easier for fans to be photographed next to their favourite cricketer.
Liz Edwards, public relations manager at the museum, said: "We really wanted Sachin to see his likeness before it 'meets' the public in the attraction.
"The figure will now be returning to London to join the ranks of sporting greats past and present in our Sports Zone. There will also be a cricketing challenge around the figure where guests can test their skills."
A waxwork of Mayor of London Boris Johnson is set to grace the London museum to coincide with the anniversary of his first year in office.
