London attractions: Modern design on show at Design Museum

Published: Monday 25th of July 2011

Visiting the Design Museum is one of the top things to do in London and there is now an even better reason to take a trip to the gallery.

A new exhibition will allow visitors the chance to see the work of designer Kenneth Grange in a new retrospective titled Making Britain Modern.

Although his name may not be familiar, the 82-year-old has touched every aspect of British life through his designs for Parker pens, Kenwood food mixers and Wilkinson Sword razors, as well as London black cabs and bus stops.

Reviewing the show in the Guardian, critic Justin McGuirk said: "Kenneth Grange ... has designed much of the domestic and public landscape that we've taken for granted over the last 50 years."

Those with an eye for good design may also want to take a trip to the London Motor Museum when visiting London attractions, where they can get to see the star cars of stage and screen.
