London attractions: Handel House Museum

Published: Thursday 28th of June 2012

Culture vultures looking for things to do in London should make a beeline for Handel House Museum, which is a brilliant space to explore.

The house used to be the home of the George Frederic Handel, who was a famous baroque composer.

Visitors will be fascinated to learn that this home was where Handel produced some of his all-time classics like Music for the Royal Fireworks, Messiah and Zadok the Priest.

Upcoming events include A Palette of Passions and Plaints, which "explores a range of musical colours from the baroque palette".

Located near Oxford Street Underground Station, the home pays homage to Handel's fascinating life and his timeless music, and is a must for those who adore his compositions.

Visitors will be interested to learn that nearby is the former home of a modern musical genius – the electric guitarist Jimi Hendrix.

Hendrix was known for being a naturally gifted instrumentalist and is considered one of the greatest guitarists of all time.
