Published: Wednesday 6th of June 2012
After all the buzz of the Diamond Jubilee, people looking to enjoy Queen-related London attractions will have a fascinating time at the Churchill Museum & Cabinet War Rooms.
Winston Churchill, one of the greatest prime ministers the UK has ever known, was the first to serve under the Queen, when she came to the throne in 1952.
At the Churchill Museum, holidaymakers can find out more about the charismatic intelligent and irascible man who helped govern the country during the Second World War.
Visitors can actually explore the secret headquarters where Churchill and his team came up with strategies to defeat the Nazis.
"This is the room from which I will direct the war," he famously said of the War Cabinet Room.
People can enjoy a private tour of the Churchill War Rooms and a special talk by bestselling author Ben Macintyre on the D-Day Spies.
The Cabinet War Rooms were the secret underground headquarters for the British government during the war, providing them with safety against overhead bombing.
