London attractions: Foundling Museum exhibits artwork
Published: Monday 28th of March 2011
Running until April 3rd, Baby Love is a collection of portraits and interviews about the highs and lows of being a single mother, featuring TV presenter Cerrie Burnell and photography by Caroline Purday.
Meanwhile, clay reliquaries made by young mothers and young people in care during workshops led by artist Grayson Perry are on show until April 2nd.
The project saw Mr Grayson lead ten young people on a tour of the British Museum to study a selection of reliquaries, before creating their own personal objects that form a unique means of identification.
Established in 2004, the Foundling Museum was created to tell the story of the Foundling Hospital for abandoned children, and contains work by 18th-century artists such as William Hogarth, Thomas Gainsborough and Joshua Reynolds.
