London attractions: Experience the work of John Burningham at the London Transport Museum

Published: Thursday 6th of October 2011

People looking for quirky London attractions to visit during their time in the capital could opt for the London Transport Museum.

The John Burningham: Journeys of the Imagination exhibition is running at the centre until Thursday December 1st.

Burningham's career was kick started with a poster commission from London Transport in 1960, and he went on to find fame as a children's book author and illustrator later in life.

The exhibition includes a display of his travel posters, an 'in conversation' evening with the author, and a book signing afternoon.

October family fun half term workshops will also be held.

Furthermore, budding photographers can get involved, with a new Flickr photographic competition running until the end of the exhibition.

Also on at the London Transport Museum is the Sense and the City: smart, connected and on the move exhibition.

On until March 18th 2012, the exhibition looks at how new technologies are changing the experience of London and how this compares to past predictions of the future.
