London attractions: Dress up in vintage for a ride on the London Transport Museum's vehicles

People looking for unique things to do in London could take part in the Metro-land Heritage Vehicle Outing organised by the London Transport Museum.
Visitors have the opportunity to travel back in time to the glamorous 1930s and 40s on special journeys aboard the museum's 1938 art deco Tube train and Engine No. 12, Sarah Siddons, the last operational Metropolitan Railway electic locomotive.
On Sunday September 11th, the vehicles will be taking passengers between Harrow-on-the-Hill, Rickmansworth and Amersham as part of the Amersham Old Town's Heritage Day.
Attendees are encouraged to embrace the stylish spirit of the times, with the Metro-land best dressed competition offering the prize of two annual tickets to London Transport Museum and a copy of London's Metro-land by Alan A Jackson.
The I Knit London team will also be present on the art deco tube throughout the day, meaning fans of the craft should bring their knitting or stitching along too.
