London attractions: Doctor Who exhibition at the Cartoon Museum
Published: Thursday 25th of August 2011
Fans of Time Lord Doctor Who should not miss the new exhibition at the cartoon museum for things to do in London.
The museum is celebrating the world's longest-running comic character based on a TV programme with its Doctor Who In Comics: 1964-2011, which is on until October 30th.
Encompassing more than 100 works, the display is the first to show how the eccentric British superhero has evolved in comics over the last 47 years.
While Doctor Who in Comics is connected to the TV programme, stories have also taken fans on adventures which would have been beyond the budget and special effects capacity of the BBC.
The exhibition includes stories from TV Comic, TV Century 21, Doctor Who Weekly, Doctor Who Monthly, Doctor Who Magazine, Doctor Who Adventures and the American Doctor Who Magainze.
First appearing on BBC television on November 23rd 1963, the programme quickly attracted a large following.
