Published: Tuesday 18th of May 2010

Tourists keen to find something exciting to do at London attractions this summer need look no further than the HMS Belfast.

The famous World War Two ship will be hosting a talk by esteemed naval historian professor Eric Grove, of Salford University, who will be examining the importance of radar technology for naval forces.

Professor Grove will also explore the contributions that scientists made to the development of the technology and will complement his talk with illustrated images and footage from the collections of another London attraction, the Imperial War Museum.

The lecture will be taking place on July 8th at 19:00 BST and has been organised in partnership with the Royal Society as part of its 350th anniversary celebrations.

Professor Grove's lecture will take place before the celebration of the Korean War Anniversary, which will see veterans who served on the ship on board again to meet tourists and visitors.
