Learn about locomotives at Kew Bridge Steam Museum's Giants of Steam weekend

Published: Thursday 4th of February 2010

Those visiting London attractions at the end of the month may want to consider a trip to the Kew Bridge Steam Museum's Giants of Steam weekend.

As part of the special weekend of events, visitors can witness the 90-inch, Boulton and Watt or Maudslay and Bull steam engines in action.

Over the weekend at the Kew Bridge Steam Museum, the focus will be on the working life of the Victorian pumping station and special talks and behind the scenes tours of the original workshops will take place.

The Giants of Steam weekend is to take place on February 27th and 28th.

On the same weekend the London branch of the Association of 16mm Modellers will be running model live steam locomotives.

The museum is located north of Kew Gardens, which includes a Victorian glass house, 18-metre-high tree-top walkways and thousands of species of plant life.
