Johnson names England squad for Six Nations campaign
Published: Thursday 15th of January 2009
England coach Martin Johnson has named the England squad that he hopes can go some way to reversing the disappointment of 2008 at the forthcoming Six Nations.
The group exhibits a mix of youth and experience, with old campaigners like Mike Tindall, Mark Cueto and Lewis Moody joined by newer faces such as the impressive Delon Armitage.
Meanwhile, Gloucester's twice-capped Olly Morgan is included and Northampton's Ben Foden could be in line to make his international debut.
The autumn internationals of last year saw England lose consecutive matches to Australia, South Africa and New Zealand and leave Johnson with much to ponder after an initially promising start to his tenure.
England's Six Nations campaign will begin at Twickenham with the visit of Italy who, while likely to provide a challenge, should allow the home side to rack up a few points and build confidence for the greater battles that lay ahead over the following four games.
LondonPass holders can visit the home of English rugby and take in the Twickenham World Rugby Museum and Stadium Tour for free, saving £10 for adults and £7 for children.
